The Latest Web Designs for 2014

Designs and trends come and go, we all know that! Every year brings a new change, and this year isn’t different. Just like with anything else, trends for web design also keep on changing with every passing year and 2014 brings us some new designs and trends, which has brought many web designers to giggle like little girls!

So here a few web design trends gaining popularity in 2014
  • Flat Designs Everywhere: In 2013, we saw minimalist designs going almost viral, with every second website using it. Now, in 2014, we see flat designs gaining popularity. Flat designs, though quite similar to minimalist designs, have gained popularity due to the fact that it leads to way less clutter and in turn makes the website quite user friendly and easy to understand and read!
  • Parallax Scrolling Design: Another amazing design trend that we are seeing in 2014 is parallax scrolling. With more and more websites utilizing parallax scrolling, it has definitely gained tremendous popularity. Parallax scrolling is a scrolling technique which creates an illusion in which the background images seem to be moving slower than the images on the foreground! So, it is safe to assume that it’s kind of a mischievous sort of a design.
  • Responsive Web Design: Like 2013, 2014 has also seen a huge influx in responsive web design, owing to the surge of mobile phones and tablets! Responsive web design aims at creating an optimal viewing experience, no matter what device is being used by a user.
  • Better Images: Web designers, now, have started using better images for websites! Using high quality images provides a rich user experience and with faster internet speeds than ever before, it has become easier to access these high quality images on websites.
  • Typography: More and more designers these days have started experimenting with different fonts now. Gone are the days when ‘Helvetica’ was the popular choice of every web designer! 2014 has seen most websites deviating from the age old pattern of using the same boring fonts, and using newer and more creative fonts for a richer user experience.
  • Videos: Another trend that has recently caught up with a lot of designers is using more videos in place of text or images! With new camera technology and easy to use editing software’s, it has become simple to make videos and with faster internet speeds, they have become easier to access too!
